Experience the beauty, sound, and spirit of the 2025 Red Mountain Eagle Pow Wow in Mesa, Arizona — a powerful gathering celebrating Indigenous culture, community, and connection. Hosted by MCs Bart Powaukee and Ruben Littlehead, and featuring the world-renowned Northern Cree as Host Northern Drum, this year’s pow wow brought together some of the most respected singers and dancers across Indian Country. Enjoy performances and contest songs from Southern Style, New Boys, Red Arrow, Wandering Elk, The Horses, Zona Boys, The Descendants, Buc Wild, 51 North, and Bear Heal Singers — each drum bringing their own heartbeat to the arena. 🎥 Filmed and produced by Aaron Tsosie of Indigenous Event Recordings, this video honors the traditions, pride, and unity of our people — keeping our songs and stories alive for future generations. 🪶 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yaateeh! Aaron Tsosie here — the person behind the camera! 🎥 What an amazing weekend! The Red Mountain Eagle Pow Wow holds a special place in my heart — three years ago, this very event became one of my first major uploads on YouTube, and it completely changed the course of my life. My “Spotlight Video” from that pow wow took off, and from that moment on, I knew that documenting Indigenous events was my true calling. Fast-forward three years later, and I’m proud to say Indigenous Event Recordings has grown beyond what I ever imagined. I spent this entire weekend fully documenting the event — recording, livestreaming, and taking photos — and I know that version of me from three years ago would be proud of how far we’ve come. It was great being back on home turf here in Phoenix, surrounded by familiar faces and friends I’ve met over the years. I couldn’t put my camera down — it felt like every dance category had someone I knew! I took about 2,500 photos, and I’ll be spending the next few days editing and sharing them privately with the dancers, singers, and organizers. I’ve always believed in giving back through my photography, so I share these images for free — just keep saying hi until I know you 😄 One of my favorite moments from Sunday was when Northern Cree performed their Round Dance Melody. The energy, the laughter, and the sense of togetherness reminded me why I love what I do. I’ll be uploading that performance soon as its own stand-alone video — you don’t want to miss it! This pow wow reminded me of how powerful our community truly is — it’s not just about the dancing or the drums, but the friendships, stories, and laughter that tie us together. I’m already looking forward to next year’s pow wow — and for IER’s 4th birthday! By then, I hope to bring in a second camera angle, someone to monitor the livestream, and maybe even a small team to help me cover multiple angles and bring even more stories to life. Ahe’hee to everyone who supports my work — from watching the videos, leaving a thumbs up, to sharing my content — it truly means the world. Here’s to more growth, more stories, and more community 🪶 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📢 Support My Work 🎯 Help me keep documenting Indigenous events — send a tip via Venmo: @imaarontoasty 💌 Want to support long-term?
