4K Luminous The Symphony of Us - EPCOT Fireworks - World Showcase - Walt Disney World - 2024

Luminous The Symphony of Us is a firework show that debuted on December 5th 2023 in EPCOT at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. It is intended to be the "real" replacement of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth and Harmonious. When Illuminations retired in 2019, the firework show Epcot Forever debuted as a placeholder until Harmonious was ready to premiere, as the barges for Harmonious would have to be permanently installed on World Showcase Lagoon. Harmonious's debut was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown, but it eventually premiered on September 29th 2021 just in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. Due to many guest complaints that the barges blocked views of World Showcase, and the show had a story that didn't "belong" to EPCOT, Harmonious was retired on March 31st 2023. Epcot Forever returned the next day to serve as a placeholder while the Harmonious barges were removed from the lagoon. Taking into consideration the successful parts of Illuminations and Harmonious, Luminous has been considered to be a much better successor to Illuminations than Harmonious. With barges acting like the ones in Illuminations (able to enter and leave the lagoon each day), and a perfect 360 viewing experience, as well as a better utilization of technology, Luminous is here to stay. Unfortunately for Disney, a lot of money was spent into the design of Harmonious, but fortunately some of that technology was able to be repurposed into Luminous. This video was filmed on November 28th 2024 on the International Gateway Bridge. The show began at 9pm.
