Last time I published a video I was just starting my Hawaiian vacation; today I am arriving back home to the semi-melted tundra of the Midwest (United States). I'm tanner, more rested, more relaxed, and not ready to be back to reality just yet. I hope you had a good week last week and I hope you're feeling more prepared for this upcoming week than I am. This week's video comes directly from the corner of my heart where I store everything most special to me. It's all about BOOKS, beautiful, papery, crinkly, delicious books. I love everything about books: the way they smell (old books and new), the sound the spine makes when you first crack open a brand new book, the sound of the pages as they softly rub together or flutter like hummingbird wings when fanned with my thumb, the powerful memories associated with reading old favorites, and the fresh excitement of starting something new. Books bring people together and allow us space to be with ourselves. They are magical and wonderful, and I can't believe I haven't done this video before now. What more can be said, really? This video features some of my favorite books and some that just sound nice or are visually interesting. I'll tap, trace, crinkle, flip, stroke, and turn the covers and pages of each one.
