Legend has it she fought off two huskies in someone’s backyard just to get to us. The little warrior found us through a post on Facebook—maybe 6–7 weeks old, scruffy, hungry, and fresh from the battlefield. She came into our lives at the end of 2020—maybe as a reward, maybe as a reminder of the chaos that exists in the world. Raising baby Samurai was maybe the hardest animal experience we’ve ever had.
