Join us as we descend from the breathtaking highlands of Big Sur, winding our way down to the sun-soaked beaches of California’s central coast. This is a journey of sweeping vistas, salty air, and unforgettable roadside stops. We head south, hugging the coastline, and stop at Piedras Blancas to visit the incredible Friends of the Elephant Seal—an up-close look at these majestic creatures lounging on the shore. Next, we cruise into Cambria, where a juicy burger and a cold beer hit the spot. Of course, we can’t leave town without swinging by Linn’s Restaurant to grab a couple of their legendary Olallieberry pie—a true Central Coast treat. Continuing south, we reach Grover Beach and roll right onto the sand, traversing miles of shoreline down to Oceano, where the Oceano Dunes invite us to explore their wild beauty. As the sun sets, we make camp in the dunes, light a campfire, and dig into some tasty burrito bowls under a glowing moonlit sky. The next morning greets us with a stunning sunrise and a hot, delicious French toast breakfast to fuel the next leg of our journey.
