RUSTIVAL 2 - September 2024

The Rustival 2 2024 show held at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon, and organised by a group of automotive Youtubers, had similarities to the "Anything Goes" car meet we attend every year, in that owners of classic cars, modern classics, youngtimers and basically any older car that someone feels enthusiastic about, are invited to take part and display their pride and joy at Rustival, regardless of whether it is a concours classic car, or a "barn find" survivor exhibiting every one of its years. The first Rustival classic car show took place earlier in 2024, I didn't get to that one so the September 2024 Rustival (aka "Rustival 2") was my first time, I headed down in our '02 Jaguar as part of its extended testing programme (!) but wasn't displaying at this one. The Rustival 2 show, held in the grounds surrounding the British Motor Museum on the 28th September 2024, was pretty large (especially for just the second outing of Rustival) and it was interesting to note just how many people there had Youtube channels and were video-ing proceedings, some channels quite large (for the classic car world), others recently opened. The cars at this year's Rustival 2 were spread over a huge range of ages, including several pre-war cars which was good to see. Many cars I'd never clapped eyes on before, and there were more than enough cars of the age range I typically feature here on the Old Classic Car channel to make it a fun and interesting day out. As always, I try and feature a bit of everything at every classic car-related event I/we get to, including the more recent cars but focusing mainly on the older cars, say from the 1980s and before, of which there were plenty.
