Supreme Court Directs Delhi NCR Stray Dog Relocation To Shelters Amidst Debate | India Today

The Supreme Court has directed that all stray dogs in Delhi NCR be picked up within eight weeks and housed in dedicated dog shelters. The apex court also warned that action will be taken against any person or organization obstructing the process. This directive has led to significant division, particularly among various societies. Animal rights activists have staged protests, stating the order is "bizarre" and "in contravention to an earlier order by the Supreme Court, the two contradictory orders, because earlier the Supreme Court itself said that the animal birth control rules 2023 must be followed."
