Hanging out with tiny lion cubs!

On my last visit to the Maasai Mara in October 2021 I was fortunate to spend time with one month old lion cubs of a female from the Acacia pride. My guide from Kicheche Mara North camp, Jimmy Tinka, manoeuvred our vehicle on a very rocky slope so that we could see the lioness lying out in some bushes. A couple of cubs came out to join her but were mostly hidden by the bushes as they suckled. Over time we did get to see the cubs in a narrow window of sight. Later in the day we returned and all four cubs came out to play. As the light faded in the rain and late afternoon, mum took them off across the plain.
