Located near the edge of the Mojave Desert in Lucerne Valley (or Johnson Valley) are thousands of Creosote Bushes. The area doesn't look much different than other parts of the desert, but hiding in plain sight is one of the oldest living things on Earth, King Clone. King Clone is part of a clonal colony that forms a creosote ring, and is estimated to be 11,700 years old, dating back to the end of the last ice age, shortly after the Mojave Desert was formed.
