TEAM BE BETTER; is a Michigan nonprofit providing free family-centered mental health consultations, screenings, education, and personalized care plans. We serve families of adolescents, young adults, and student-athletes to improve positive mental health outcomes, create clarity in a complex system, ensure continuity of proactive care across home, school, and sports, and change lives. The TEAM BE BETTER; care model is inspired by Ian Miskelley, a scholarship University of Michigan swimmer who died by suicide in 2020. Ian's family felt sidelined by the mental health system and launched TEAM BE BETTER; to demonstrate what excellence in mental health care looks like. Young adults and families often struggle with knowing where to turn when someone speaks up. TEAM BE BETTER; offers an empathetic place to begin.
