I addition, even as a thesis about what there is (physical stuff) and isn't (non-physical stuff) it is very difficult to further clarify how this should be understood. We also discuss the relationship between physicalism and other related ideas like naturalism, materialism, scientism and atheism. Chris Oldfield is a research associate at the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion, based at the University of Cambridge.
