Join me for a primal movement bodyweight workout that will be sure to challenge your strength, mobility, endurance, and body control. Make sure to listen to your body and know what your limits are. This workout covers the following movements: bear walk, bear crawl, crab walk, monkey, duck walk, and frog. Even though these are basic movements, this workout may be challenging. The benefits of these movements where you are crawling is that the spine and trunk both have to be more involved in creating and handling dynamic forces. Placing the hands on the ground forces your upper back to work and stabilize to maintain correct positioning. You'll also notice that you'll feel different muscles and parts of the body that are required to develop more flexibility. This is a stimulus we don’t always get in regular activity, and it improves your upper spine’s ability to be a supportive platform for so many activities. An additional benefit to this movement is the how the movements change your normal orientation in space. For example in the bear walk, you are in an inverted position.
