Apr 16, 2016 This 9-month-old poodle has luxated patellas with the right hind leg luxated in Feb. In Mar, the left hind knee cap is also luxated. The poodle can bear some weight on the left hind. The hind leg muscles are atrophied now. Surgery involves the patella and the tibia. The prognosis is not good as the luxation is over 2 months. The patellas do luxate medially as well as laterally suggesting a very shallow groove. The owner said that the first vet diagnosed nutritional deficiency and was not happy with the diagnosis. Surgery is the option as casting will not be effective.
