In today's 2 minute garden tip, I share a trick that tells you exactly when to water a garden! Watering the garden can be a time consuming and expensive task, especially if you have to do it by hand. Knowing exactly when gardens need water can save a lot of time and money watering plants. The finger method will tell you if your garden needs water! Once you are sure your garden needs watering, do your best to save water and reduce watering frequency by using smart watering practices. Mulch plants well to reduce evaporation and reduce watering needs. Consider installing drip irrigation to water more deeply and efficiently, which automates the process and saves you lots of time and money. Water at the right time: the best time to water is early in the morning or at sunset. Never water in the middle of the day, because much of that water will be lost to evaporation.
