Happy Monday 🌝 I have been hearing about “Readings” bookstore since forever. I have ordered books from their online website before but since I don’t live in Lahore and have only visited the city occasionally over the years, I never got a chance to visit Readings. I heard about Readings from Instagram, #Bookay (A Facebook group dedicated to readers in Pakistan and abroad.) and YouTube. So when I visited #Lahore last month, I knew I wanted to visit the store in person. It wasn’t an easy trip to plan because of the lock-down in Lahore, third wave of COVID and my busy schedule. I did however get a chance to visit the Gulberg branch of Readings on 23 March 202: It’s celebrated as Pakistan Day and is a public holiday. I called #Readings store a day before, to check whether the shop would be open. They had a special discount going on in honor of Pakistan Day 🥳 and so I made the most of it. There is a book haul coming soon 🔜 I ended up visiting their newly opened store at DHA before I traveled back home too. It is bigger and better! It is 5 floor shop full of books! I’m so glad I got a chance to visit this new branch as well. I have learned from secret 🤫 sources that there is expected to be a new branch opening of Readings in Islamabad this summer!! So, that would be so accessible to me and a lot of other book lovers in Pakistan 🇵🇰 In this video, I’ll take you along with me to visit both the branches and I’ll be doing a voice over.
