Hello everyone! Today I wanted to talk about neonatal disease, or disease of the newborn. I'm super passionate about newborn care and just got off a month of working in the newborn nursery, so I've got a LOT to talk about and some pretty strong opinions on the matter as well, so let's get into it. In this series I'll discuss the why breast milk is so much more than food (it's also a form of communication and immune protection!), how breastfeeding is good for mothers, how the large majority of mothers can breastfeed and some common myths associated with breastfeeding, the pitfalls of trying to breast and formula feed, why formula companies are actually mostly evil and do significant harm by knowingly stopping mother's from breastfeeding, often with deceptive or false advertising and pseudoscience, how formula companies target developing countries, how infant formula actually leads to metabolic disease in children like diabetes, the effects of prenatal drug exposure, the effects of prenatal infections, the treatments and screenings done for newborns after birth in the hospital, the aspects of the newborn physical exam, how to care for a newborn's umbilical cord, safe sleep, signs of infection in a newborn, and why it's a really bad idea to do a homebirth. All this, and of course, my inspiration for drawing this newborn-themed optical illusion art and my thoughts on the design, the background, my method, and the final result! The information provided on the Dr. JPlayer channel is intended for general informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All opinions are my own. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider for any questions you may have regarding your personal healthcare needs. #inspiration #method #medicine #medicaleducation #screening #drawing #art #draw #healthcare #publichealth #healthcommunication #doctor #medicine #primarycare #physician #preventivemedicine #preventivecare #familymedicine #opticalillusion #cozy #chat #design #disease #preventivecare #residency #newborn #baby #prenatalcare #prenataltesting #vaccine #breastfeeding #breastfeedingtips #whattoexpect #infection #drugs #formula #infantformula #homebirth
