Our unfiltered experience climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain. Lemosho Route. Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha/Moshi, Tanzania, Africa. About 2.5 hours out of Arusha, Tanzania, is the start of the Lemosho Route - Londorossi Gate. A dream come true for us climbing Africa's highest mountain and the tallest free standing mountain in the world at 5,895M a.m.s.l. We took the Lemosho Route over 8 days, for the superior scenery and ability to acclimatise to the altitude a little easier. It rained almost every day, but it was worth every single wet sock, soaked pair of underwear, drenched pants and souls! This is by far our proudest moment on any trek so far and we are so excited to be able to share our journey up the mountain with you. Our head guides Fred (Who has climbed Kili over 1,000 times!) and Bareki were so knowledgeable and understanding of not only the mountain, but also our needs whilst climbing, which made this dream of ours even better!
