Powered Roller Conveyors with Zoned PEC Sensors | Zero Pressure Accumulation for Smooth Product Flow In this video, we demonstrate how a driven roller conveyor uses zoned PEC sensors to control product movement, prevent collisions, and eliminate build-ups. Each zone stops automatically when a product breaks the beam, creating a zero-pressure accumulation system that keeps items perfectly spaced. You’ll see two types of PEC sensor setups: Firstly, a driven roller conveyor with diffuse reflective sensors placed under the rollers. This PEC sensor sends a beam upward to detect products. Second, a powered roller conveyor using side-mounted PEC sensors along the conveyor. These are retro-reflective sensors, and each sensor is paired with a reflector directly opposite. This creates an invisible beam line across the conveyor to detect products. Both these systems are widely used in: ✔ Warehousing & fulfilment ✔ E-commerce packing lines ✔ Logistics & distribution ✔ Manufacturing & assembly lines ✔ Automated packing and scanning systems The benefits of a zoned roller conveyor: Prevents product collisions Smooth, controlled flow Reduces bottlenecks and build-up Safer for operators Energy efficient (only runs when needed) If you’re looking for a reliable, durable and smart roller conveyor system for your warehouse or production line, zoned PEC sensors provide accurate detection, smooth handling, and smarter material flow.
