The double slap begins with the pulling of the string, getting the finger underneath the string, pulling, then letting go so that the string hits the fingerboard. And then, instead of the singer slap, slapping it twice makes it a double slap. Missy notes that students should relax and release all tension to create a more musical sound with the slaps, letting the fingers bounce back on its own for the second slap.
