While working on the web series "Critical Role" and as the host of the YouTube discussion show "Talks Machina," Foster was accused of sexual assault and harassment by multiple women. According to the lawsuit, he lied to women about being in an open relationship with Johnson in order to get them to acquiesce to his unwanted approaches as a celebrity. Foster's allegedly abusive conduct of groping and sexually suggestive statements are highlighted in the lawsuit. It also details allegations that he sent threatening and sexually graphic texts to women. After Brian Wayne Foster allegedly tried to extort money from Ashley Johnson in May, she sought and was granted an emergency protective order against him. Foster has denied the allegations, but the lawsuit still attempts to make him liable for the harassment and abuse. According to Johnson's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, the investigating officer had legitimate fears for Johnson's safety and issued a temporary restraining order as a result. The case was filed because Foster's acts continue to cause plaintiffs emotional pain and physical harm.
