We spent 2 nights in Kaunas exploring shopping malls and antique village homes in Rumšiškės, Kaunas County. (July 2020) ----- As of Saturday, 01 August 2020, it is mandatory to wear protective face masks on public transport and in enclosed shopping and service provision locations. ----- There are two major shopping malls in Kaunas, Lithuania, namely Mega and Akropolis. Mega has a huge aquarium, the largest and tallest in the baltic States. Professional divers and marine biologists are in charge of feeding the fish and sharks in the aquarium tank. ---- Rumšiškės - Lithuanian Folk Museum The Open-Air Museum of Lithuania is one of the largest ethnographic open-air museums in Europe with an area of 195 ha. The exhibitions at the open-air museum represents the main ethnographic regions of Lithuania, i.e. Dzūkija (Dainava), Aukštaitija (Highlands), Suvalkija (Sudovia), Žemaitija (Samogitia) and Lithuania Minor, as they looked at the end of the 18th century and the first half of the 20th century. The houses representing each of the regions stand in their natural environment and have the interior and exterior of the respective period.
