Worried about the detection of the Omicron variant in Karnataka, the state government has decided to conduct random Covid-19 tests on college and school students once in 15 days. The state government revised its Covid protocols after two cases related to the Omicron threat were detected in the state. Recently, the educational institutions in Karnataka have reported a massive surge in Covid-19 cases, prompting the health department to ramp up testing. India reported its first cases of the Omicron variant on Thursday, both of which were reported from Karnataka.
