I gave up hobbies, TV, personal time and friends to work as much as I could for the last 6 months as a doctor... and I don't regret any of it. The stakes have changed and we're in a totally different part of the climb now. We need people to work hard in medicine - take on family medicine rosters, work shifts at the hospital and set up businesses, but I understand that it's not for everyone.
