Constructed in the mid-19th century, the church served the Protestant community for almost 180 years. During the Northern Ireland conflict (late 1960s to 1998), the congregation continued to meet while army checkpoints and security barriers operated close by. This area was located near one of the Belfast peace walls, separating Protestant unionist and Catholic nationalist districts. The last service was 15 years ago, when surveys identified structural issues and possible collapse risk. #Belfast #AbandonedNI #NorthernIreland #AbandonedIreland
