So here we have the open source Arduino powered 6 legged Robot, HEXY which has 3 DOF per leg and 19 servos in total. This is a great robot if you want to learn more about kinematics. As it is Arduino based you can program it in so many ways! ArcBotics also provide graphical software with some built in behaviors (walk, dance etc) I would recommend you configure it with their software first, mine seemed to struggle a little with the 9 batteries it requires but was fine with an external power source. I had not had chance to update the firmware so that could be issue.
