Do you dream of living in Italy? This video is for you. In today's video we're talking about where to live in Italy. Keep in mind that where you spend your vacations may not be the best location for a long-term stay. I'm also going to touch on a subject that comes up frequently, racism in Italy. People ask me all the time is it safe for Black people here. Have I experienced more racism in Italy than in the States (that would be impossible). I understand the reason why this question comes up but I also understand the frustration some of my fellow Black Americans feel regarding constantly answering it. This is part of a series on moving to Italy. I mention the following FB group, Black Expats In Italy, in today's video: / 623760718720205 Contents of this video: 0:00 - Intro 0:32 - Where do you want to live in Italy? 1:30 - Are you retired? 2:30 - What if you want or need to keep working? 4:39 - This is not la dolce vita. 5:49 - Racism in Italy. 15:30 - Location, location, location. 18:44 - Wrapping up. Thank you for watching my newish channel, My Bittersweet Life/La Mia Vita Argodolce, where I focus on all things Italiano, lifestyle, and Saint Martin/Anguilla. I call it my bittersweet life because as a woman "of a certain age", there are so many changes. Some are positive and some are heartbreaking. I recently lost both my parents and my life is not the same. I have to figure out this new normal. I'm not a fan. Zero out of ten. While there is more public discussion about THE CHANGE, the narrative about older women (especially Stateside) is negative. Is it all la dolce vita under the Roman sun? No, but I'm determined to enjoy this phase of my life. I was so busy worrying all the time, stressing about things I had no control over, and buying into a value system that was not my own, that I sometimes didn't see the wonderful things that were right in front of me. I plan to publish a new long form video on the first and third Sunday on the month and a Short weekly. Let's talk!
