North Coast 500: A862 - Inchmore to Inverness

The North Coast 500 is described as Scotland's answer to Route 66. It's a scenic route of just over 500 miles (800km) following the coast around the far north of mainland Scotland, starting and finishing at Inverness Castle. The A862 runs for about 24 miles (38km) from the A82 in Inverness to the A9 Cromarty Bridge, via the towns of Beauly, Muir of Ord, Conon Bridge, Maryburgh and Dingwall. Prior to the opening of the Kessock & Cromarty Bridges in the late-1970s and early 1980s, this road was the main A9 north. This video shows an eastbound journey along the A862, from the B9164 junction at Inchmore near Kirkhill, to the A82 junction in Inverness, along the south bank of the Beauly Firth.
