Yep!! I heard them too! But sometimes hearing rumours and horror stories isn’t half as enjoyable as facing them head on. So being local I opted to visit what is a beautiful Butterley Reservoir and give the place a good scour for any of these terrible fantasies I’ve been told and shown of. What I didn’t expect was to enter a Horror Story and walk out of a fairy tale! Times have changed people!! It’s not the same!! It’s safe to come out now…. What MAY have been probably one of the most controversial fisheries in the north is now very close to an Anglers Paradise. I’m serious!! It’s absolutely stunning! What’s more, is they’ve just restocked it with a MONSTER and all your midnight slimy terrors are moving out as we speak! Wanting to try somewhere new? Fancying a new day ticket venue? Or are you a serious Carp Angler wanting a perfect platform to practice or grow your skill set?! Well get down here and enjoy your new angling adventure. Ripley and District AC you’ve done a fabulous job of the place. A few niggly bits but I’m also no Simon Cowel. Open that Café tomorrow and toast a warm cuppa to what is a very healthy future for Butterly Reservoir. Should be very proud of yourselves! That place has had some serious money and time put into it.
