In this video I address concerns from a viewer who's struggling with her children and motherhood. This series is all about opening up a 'spectrum mentality' and viewing things in a slightly less linear way. If you are in need of support: Try to work out if there is a friend or person you know that you could speak to (but be careful with this - friends/relatives etc are very often not trained in mental health support) Contact your GP if you feel able to do so (but remember that there are limitations on what can be offered, the NHS talking therapies have long waiting lists at present and are often underfunded. A GP will also consider medication as an option; please take some time to work out what's right for you) Refer yourself to talking therapies - google 'talking therapies' and you can complete a local self-referral Check the BACP website to find a registered therapist/counsellor in your area (but be careful to check their credentials) MOST PRIVATE THERAPISTS SHOULD OFFER A FREE SHORT CONSULTATION TO CHECK IF YOU ARE A GOOD MATCH. You can contact the Samaritans who offer a listening service - https://www.samaritans.org or call 116 123 FOR FREE AT ANY TIME, 24/7 365 DAYS A YEAR There is also the mental health charity 'mind' who can provide support and advice.
