The plug’s app, adds a nice level of functionality allowing us to set a timer to run the pool pump, or not, and check if the outlet is getting power in the event something trips the breaker while we are away. We tried a variety of manual outdoor timers in the past, often with poor results after the fact. We came home after vacation one year only to find a storm had knocked out the power and timer while we were away, and came home to a green pool because the pump had shut down.
