Oggi ti portiamo a Diano Marina per uno spettacolo eccezionale: l'infiorata del Corpus Domini. La tradizione religiosa dell'infiorata a diano risale ai primi del 900 e si è interrotta soltanto durante le due guerre mondiali. Dagli anni 60 del 900, questo evento ha assunto anche una rilevanza turistica, oltre che religiosa, diventando un'occasione per valorizzare la quantità e la varietà dei fiori coltivati nel territorio. La sera e la notte precedente il Corpus Domini vengono tracciati con i gessi i disegni dei soggetti da realizzare, delimitando con cura i diversi campi di colore e separandoli con il terriccio. Si procede poi a distendere con attenzione e delicatezza i petali colorati, forniti dal Comune tramite un’azienda floricola. Ne sono necessari circa 100 sacchi, per un totale di circa un milione di petali. Durante tutta la notte i volontari dell'associazione Amici dell'infiorata e di altre associazioni locali lavorano senza sosta, sotto la direzione dell'artista Nives Bonavera, per realizzare questa autentica opera d'arte. Il primo mattino è il momento migliore per ammirare il risultato finito: le strade sono ancora deserte e i primi raggi del sole scaldano i petali, che sprigionano il loro profumo. Il tappeto floreale copre tutta la Piazza del Comune fino all’incrocio con Via Cavour e la Via Genala fino all’incrocio con Via Genova, con un effetto a dir poco meraviglioso. Lo scopo finale è quello di realizzare uno splendido tappeto fiorito per il passaggio della solenne cerimonia religiosa del Corpus Domini. Un lavoro di ore ed ore viene cosí calpestato e distrutto in solo qualche minuto. Non è forse questa una fantastica metafora dell'impermanenza di tutte le cose? Today we take you to Diano Marina for an exceptional show: the Corpus Domini flower display. The religious tradition of the flower display in Diano dates back to the early 1900s and was only interrupted during the two world wars. Since the 1960s, this event has also taken on a tourist, as well as religious, importance, becoming an opportunity to enhance the quantity and variety of flowers grown in the area. In the evening and night before Corpus Christi, the drawings of the subjects to be created are drawn with chalk, carefully delimiting the different color fields and separating them with soil. We then proceed to carefully and delicately spread out the colored petals, supplied by the Municipality through a floriculture company. About 100 bags are needed, for a total of about one million petals. Throughout the night the volunteers of the Amici dell'infiorata association and other local associations work tirelessly, under the direction of the artist Nives Bonavera, to create this authentic work of art. Early morning is the best time to admire the finished result: the streets are still deserted and the first rays of the sun warm the petals, which release their scent. The floral carpet covers the entire Piazza del Comune up to the intersection with Via Cavour and Via Genala up to the intersection with Via Genova, with a marvelous effect to say the least. The final aim is to create a splendid flowered carpet for the passage of the solemn religious ceremony of Corpus Domini. Hours and hours of work is thus trampled on and destroyed in just a few minutes. Isn't this a fantastic metaphor for the impermanence of all things?
