Moses had died, and Joshua now had to lead the people into the Promised Land. God did not tell him to trust himself. God told him to trust God’s Word and God’s presence. His courage came from knowing that the Lord was with him. Many years later, when Joshua was old and near death, he gathered the people one last time (Joshua 24). He reminded them of everything God had done—from Abraham to the conquest of the land (Joshua 24:2–13). Then he gave them a clear choice: “Choose this day whom you will serve.” And he declared, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). Joshua finished the same way he started—with courage rooted in faith. He did not slowly drift away from God. He remained steady. This shows the perseverance of the saints. God keeps His people faithful to the end (Philippians 1:6). True faith continues because God sustains it. Joshua’s legacy was not only military victory. It was spiritual consistency. He led his family and influenced a whole nation (Joshua 24:31). His life points forward to Christ, the greater Joshua, who leads His people faithfully into eternal rest (Hebrews 4:8–9). Spiritual courage is not only for the beginning of life. It must last until the end. 📖 Bible Readings: Joshua 24:14–15 (Joshua 1:6–9, Joshua 24:29–31, Deuteronomy 6:5–7, 1 Corinthians 16:13, Philippians 1:6, Hebrews 4:8–9) 👨🏻💻 Teachings: Legacy of Joshua: 1. Joshua led Israel to greater heights. 2. Joshua led his family to remain faithful to God. 3. Joshua pointed the people to Jesus Christ. 💪🏼 Applications: 1. Lead now, persevere, and finish well. 2. Leave a legacy of faithfulness to God. 3. Live for Christ and be willing to die for Christ. 🎙 Discussion: What legacy do you want to leave behind for your family and the next generation? 🤿 Dive Deeper: Distinguish Joshua and Jesus in terms of conquest. 🙏🏼 Prayer: Father God, when I think about Joshua, I see a man who stayed steady with You from beginning to end. I know my heart can grow tired or distracted. Sometimes I start strong but struggle to stay consistent. Please hold me fast. Help me to be brave, not only when things are new, but also when years have passed and life feels ordinary. Teach me to love You in every season. I want my home to be a place where Your name is honored. Let my life leave a mark of faith that helps others follow You long after I am gone. Keep me faithful, Lord, because I know I cannot do it by myself. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
