Recorded from LS Times TV in Canada with the program being fed from i-CABLE News, a 24-hour news channel in Hong Kong. I should note that LS Times sometimes varies the program they air each night from i-Cable News. It can vary from the "International News" edition shown here or the regular "Cable News" rolling newscasts. In any case, the "International News" does cover local news from Hong Kong, usually in their B block. As you can probably guess from the day of the recording, the suppression of the Hong Kong remembrance ceremonies of the Tiananmen Square massacre was the main local story. Ceremonies were blocked due to "COVID-19 concerns" and regulations set by the National "Security" Law. As far as I'm concerned, the freedoms that Hong Kongers have enjoyed for decades are basically dead, and that includes freedom of the press. The raid on Apple Daily, a pro-democracy newspaper, arrest of their journalists and subsequent closure of the newspaper shows that the CCP isn't willing to tolerate any dissenting voices. It'll be interesting to see how the remaining news operations in Hong Kong are able to adapt. My understanding is that i-CABLE and Now TV (another major television news channel) is more or less neutral, with TVB being pro-government. The music used is News Series 2000 by Gari Music.
