A Bathing Ape hits rewind once again, this time using its signature camouflage on the Forum, a silhouette that has made a huge return since 2020. While this make-up doesn’t seem unusual when on its cousin the Superstar, this new “Anniversary Blue” edition takes the Forum in a completely new direction, rewinding the tape back to the early 2000s era of collaborations. Sat atop a classic white midsole, a blue BAPE camouflage cloaks the overlaying panels, with a supple white leather breaking up the heavy print. Unlike the “Green” edition, silver accents highlight the co-branding such as the silver lace dubrae that announces the 30th anniversary and the text written on the strap. A small silver BAPE face logo also hides on the sidewall, along with the abstract faces hidden within the print. Navy accents on the inner lining and 3-Stripes blend nicely within the upper’s blue motif, finished off by a classic set of flat laces that play into the Forum’s usual retro aesthetic. Pour commencer, l’icône de la marque allemande se dessine avec une base en cuir grainé blanc couplée à des superpositions bleues arborant le visuel ABC Camo très connu de chez BAPE. Quelques touches de bleu marine contrebalancent avec l’ensemble en s’emparant des trois bandes, de la doublure et du renfort. Le souci du détail est présent notamment avec les finitions argentées dont bénéficient les deubrés et la mention sur le strap et la languette.
