No need to introduce you to the famous Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) or to his Sonate Pathétique, he was one of the greatest musicians in history. However a lesser known aspect of his music is the use of the harpsichord as an option for his sonatas. His sonatas until 1802 had the harpsichord mentioned in their titles, because it was not yet a dead instrument, and Beethoven had an 18th century education and he learnt to play on the older instruments. Efforts were made to adapt the harpsichord to the new necessities of the classical era, nevertheless Beethoven later removed it from his titles because his technique evolved to a point where the harpsichord was totally obsolete. And I am sorry for the technical problems, this was a live concert.
