Sunday Worship 12/5/21 The Word of God came to John

December 5, 2021 On-Line service of worship for the Longmeadow Congregational Church, UCC. My name is Pastor Ruth of the Longmeadow Church and I post a special message for the children of our church every Wednesday as well as a message every Sunday for Family Worship. Each year in Advent we reflect on the call of John the Baptist, a fringe, itinerant preacher in the wilderness, a “nobody” compared to the rulers and religious leaders of the day. But God often uses such apparent “nobodies” to do amazing things. I will also be sharing a video about another way our church seeks to Be the Inn, the place where there is never “No More Room” for people to come in and join with us. The scripture text I will read today is Luke 3:1-6. Today we will be sharing together the meal which Jesus shared with his disciples, which we call Holy Communion. And so I invite you to have available bread and cup so that we may share this meal together.
