Geopolitical tensions, automation and changing labour costs are triggering a profound re-evaluation of sourcing strategies, including investment in re-shoring and friend-shoring for risk reduction. But the availability of key capabilities remains pivotal to decision-making. What are the determinants of today's global supply chain strategies, and what trade reconfiguration scenarios might impact these strategies in the short and long term? This session is informed by the ongoing work of the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains. The World Economic Forum is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation.
