Opening with bridleway overbridge (AG10) which is still under construction, partially completed but without parapets.This bridleway (along with the one in the last video) pass close to the place which is generally accepted to be the site of 1469 Battle of Edgcote, situated in the heart of the english country side. The site (Danes Moor) is just countryside now, but the imagination leaves a somewhat different perspective! Just east of the village of Edgcote, a 515m viaduct is being constructed, consisting of 21 spans (6 spans completed up to river Cherwell) with 20 pairs of pre-cast concrete piers, 2 concrete beams per span. The viaduct crosses the Cherwell floodplain. In the footage one can also see the southern section of the incomplete Chipping Warden Green Tunnel.. which signifies darkness to follow the viaduct... The viaduct is comparable, certainly in length and other attributes, to Balsall Common Viaduct in Warwickshire. The viaduct crosses Edgcote Road, which is currently closed off to traffic. The area is immediately north of Lower Thorpe Mandeville and further north is the village of Chipping Warden. If you've watched any of these series of videos in the Banbury area of Northants, thanks!
