Not too long ago Providence, Rhode Island made the transition from being the “Beehive of Industry” to the “Creative Capital.” Though industry brought prosperity to the city, it also left a legacy of pollution. This video explores how transforming impermeable surfaces into rain gardens and green roofs can combat that legacy. Groups like the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council and Birchwood Design Group are helping Providence live up to its 'Creative Capital' moniker by embracing green infrastructure and finding creative ways to take care of the city.
