This video is of the introduction and Pallet Town of Pokemon Red on the Game Boy. Pokemon Red and Blue versions were the first Pokemon games released in North America. The introduction allows the player to choose their name and get the core concepts about the game. Professor Oak is the teacher. For this playthrough, the names Ash and Gary are chosen in honor of the anime. Pallet Town is a small town where the player starts their journey. In this version, the player gets to choose from Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle as their starter Pokemon. The rival will always take the Pokemon which is strong against the player's. In the first series of games (Red/Blue/Yellow), the player does not have to win the first battle against the rival. This is viewed as a warm up battle and not a real one.
