This Sherman M4A3E8 Easy Eight, "Arrogant Bastard" runs through an obstacle course, and stops twice to fire the Browning M2 .50 caliber gun, during Army Days at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The Sherman fires its .50 caliber at the 1:58 mark and again at the 4:55 mark. The Sherman is a fully restored and operational 1944 M4A3E8 owned by John Tippins of Sewickly, Pennsylvania. It is believed the turret of the tank was in combat because of damage that can be seen on it. The turret and hull were separate components from two different tanks that were put together after a war. Easy 8s were used during WWII, the Korean War and the Arab-Israeli conflicts. The M4A3 model was the first to be factory-produced with the horizontal volute spring suspension (HVSS) system with wider tracks to distribute weight, beginning in August 1944. With the smooth ride of the HVSS, it gained the nickname "Easy Eight" from its experimental "E8" designation. (Video by Dan’s Cool Videos) Thanks for watching.
