Comte George de Vogue was established in 1450 Jean Moisson. The estate remained in the same family for more than 300 years. In 1766, Catherine Bouhier married Marquis Cérice-François Melchior de Vogüé, a descendant of one of France’s oldest noble families. The last count (or Comte) Georges was at the head of the family business for 52 years and is also the namesake of the domaine. The estate is now headed by its 20th generation – Claire de Causans and Marie de Ladoucette, the granddaughters of the late Comte Georges de Vogüé The estate has 12.5 hectares of vineyards and is probably the greatest estate in Chambolle-Musigny. The estate owns some 70-80 percent of grand cru Le Musigny (7.2 hectares), a significant portion of grand cru Bonnes-Mares (2.75 hectares) and 1.8 ha in the Premier Cru vineyards of Chambolle-Musigny “Les Baudes” and Chambolle-Musigny “Les Fuées”. Finally, there is 0.65 ha in Premier Cru Chambolle-Musigny "Les Amoureuses". The style of estate is delicate aromas, refined yet profound flavors and a finish made of silk. This wine is made exclusively from younger-vine fruit in Musigny. It is "Musigny in short pants,”. There is no actual premier cru Pinot Noir in this bottle as it uses younger vine fruit (25 years or younger) from grand cru Musigny.
