Enabling it on Samsung Galaxy S & Note smartphones and tablets [01:50] 4. Or just search for "notification history" in the Settings app of your Android device [02:35] You can manually disable this notification history at any time by repeating these steps and flipping the toggle again. For years, the community has had to resort to 3rd-party applications (with most Android devices) in order to collect and store the history of all notifications you have received on the smartphone or tablet. This is okay for some, but as Android has matured it has expanded its features to include some of these types of goodies. Both Google and Samsung are advertising the new notification history feature when they tout the Android 11 (and OneUI 3.0) operating system update. The thing is, the feature isn't enabled by default. That means, that Android will not be collecting or displaying this history until you go in and manually enable the feature. Since various OEMs structure their Settings app differently, I have used the Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices as an example. This video shows you where to look when you open up the Settings application so you can turn on this Notification History feature manually. It only takes a few seconds to enable and you won't have to worry about accidentally dismissing an Android notification again.
