St. John's coach Rick Pitino reacted to the loss to fellow coaching great John Calipari in this postgame press conference with reporters. Pitino, who coached the University of Kentucky from 1989–1997 and Louisville from 2001-2017, lost as the No. 2 seed to Calipari, who coached Kentucky from 2009–2024. Calipari is in his first season as the Arkansas coach, and Pitino just finished his second year at St. John's.
