Sleeping in hot weather is hard.🥵 When your body can’t cool down, your brain gets restless and sleep doesn’t come easy. Studies show higher temperatures disrupt deep sleep and you can find yourself waking more often. As a result, we get poor quality sleep! Well, as usual, my silly, curious mind wanted to look into whether certain sounds could help calm your mind and cool your body. So after some online research, I found a potential recipe for a cooling audio remedy. Here's what I got: Low-frequency Pink Noise Sound: Steady pink noise between 20–500 Hz, like soft rainfall. Cooling: Slows brain waves for deep relaxation and calmness. Wind or Air Movement Simulation Sound: Gentle whooshing breeze with slow oscillation. Cooling: Evokes fresh air and open spaces, making you feel mentally cooler. Subtle Water Elements Sound: Distant misty rain or stream without bubbling. Cooling: Suggests moisture and thermal comfort. 528 Hz Solfeggio Tone Sound: A pure, sustained 528 Hz tone layered gently under ambient textures. Cooling: Linked to relaxation and emotional release, it can reduce stress and lower perceived body heat. So off to my little sound lab I went to see what I could make. The pink noise was carefully concocted using elongated fabric scratching, while the wind was captured as a field recording of a chilly winter breeze in my garden (around last December). The water sounds come from a waterfall me and my little boy recorded in Albufeira, Portugal earlier this year, and the 528 Hz tone was played on a midi keyboard and gently layered underneath. I had to tweak and edit slightly, so you may hear it rise and fall softly, but still somewhat a sustained presence. Anyway, I hope you like it. It can still be listened to whatever the weather - it is really designed to help the brain stay asleep and not overheated. So whether you listen tonight, or come back another day, I really hope you enjoy! Sleep long and sleep well, my friends.
