Key to the emergence of LMNS’s is how we learn through assurance and work together as a system to provide the best care and outcomes for women and their babies. The LMNS for the North East and North Cumbria covers a population of 3.2 million population and 8 different healthcare trusts who provide maternity services. It was formed following the merger of three LMNS and recently expanded its remit from maternity to include neonatal services. By working collaboratively across the system, we help women to be informed, supported and to make choices about the care they receive.
