The Ground That Holds You - Logic Session Breakdown In this video, I go through my logic session for my new single, The Ground That Holds You. I produced this song myself and went through many stages of figuring out how I wanted everything to sound. I taught myself to use Logic when I was 14 and now 5 years later, I learn something new with every project. I am so proud of how this song came out and hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I got the idea of breaking down my logic session from Jacob Collier. I have spent so many hours watching and studying the ways he produces songs, so a lot of my own production comes from him. In this video I also mention inspirations from Phoebe Bridgers and American Football. I use the labels indie, pop, rock, singer-songwriter, emo, and alternative to describe my music just for sake of categorizing it for people to understand, but I don't actually think about any of that stuff when I'm creating it. I really don't know what genre my music is, I just know how it feels and the components of it. As an independent musician who does everything myself (except play the drums ;) ), it's a lot of figuring out stuff on my own.
