We often look at anger as a bad thing, wrath is one of the seven deadly sins after all. However, there are situations in life which might require some anger on our part. If someone threatens a loved one, for example, I'm sure many of us would be angry and act in response. But how can we tell when anger is justified? Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics provides an answer. He asks us to apply reason to our anger, only getting angry at things which are reasonable to be mad at. We should be angry at the right things, in the right way, at the right time, and in the right amount. To help us determine if our anger is unreasonable, he offers 4 examples of people who are excessive in their anger: the irascible person, the choleric person, the bitter person, and the complainer. #philosophy #aristotle #greekphilosophy Music by: Hicks Instagram: amygdalacomics Donations: https://ko-fi.com/philosophytoons Business Email: [email protected]
