On August 21, 2011, the most powerful tornado to hit southwestern Ontario, in years, swept through the picturesque community of Goderich, which is nestled on the shores of Lake Huron. Over 300 kilometre/hour winds battered "Canada's Prettiest Town", and within minutes, had left an unbelievable wake of destruction. Tragically, 1 person died, approx 40 others were injured .. many homes, buildings & businesses were destroyed.
