For those who chase a new cigar release, this one is a real first. It’s a FIRST EDITION of the FIRST BLEND by the FIFTH GENERATION of the Cuevas tobacco family, Alec Cuevas. Alec joins Boveda’s Unboxed Live hosts Rob Gagner and Nate Beck to reveal Sangre Nueva. It’s a stick created by and for a new generation of cigar smokers. Spanish for “new blood”, Sangre Nueva is the latest launch from the family-owned, Dominican cigar house, Casa Cuevas Cigars. Alec is the grandson of family patriarch tobacco legend, Luis Cuevas Sr. Alec’s inaugural cigar blend for Casa Cuevas is available in tobacco shops in late July 2022. What to expect from the Sangre Nueva Cigar: This new medium- to full-bodied cigar combines a Cameroon-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador, a Honduran Corojo binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. It’s the large percentage of Pennsylvania broadleaf that gives the Sangre Nueva added strength. On a cold draw, the “new blood cigar” is woody and smoky with a deep, rich and slightly sweet flavor.
